The credit formula for 100 usable videos
The simplest reliable calculation is attempted videos × credits per attempted video. If the target is 100 accepted clips, add an estimate for clips that need re-generation. A 25% extra-attempt budget means planning for 125 generated outputs.
The exact credits depend on your selected model. Runway Gen-4 Turbo uses credits per second; Google Flow Veo models are often charged per generated output. They are not the same credit unit.
Plan 100 finished AI clips
Change the model, finished outputs and extra attempts. The result is credits in that platform's own system.
Runway web credits. This is not a USD price. Estimates round attempts up to whole generations.
Four 100-video scenarios
Every row targets 100 finished clips and includes 25 extra attempts. Model rates are from provider documentation, checked October 30, 2026.
| Model and example duration | Rate | 125 total attempts |
|---|---|---|
| Runway Gen-4 Turbo (10s) | 50 Runway credits/output | 6,250 Runway credits |
| Runway Gen-4.5 (10s) | 120 Runway credits/output | 15,000 Runway credits |
| Google Flow Veo 3.1 Fast (8s; non-Ultra) | 20 Flow credits/output | 2,500 Flow credits |
| Google Flow Veo 3.1 Quality (8s) | 100 Flow credits/output | 12,500 Flow credits |

What if your plan includes fewer credits?
Runway Standard publishes 625 monthly credits. A 100-clip batch can be much larger than a single basic monthly allowance, depending on your model and retries. Google Flow has daily credit refresh rules plus additional monthly allowances on eligible plans; you cannot simply treat daily credits as a lump sum available on day one.
For practical cash planning, open the subscription plan finder, input the model and your expected attempts, and calculate the minimum plan-plus-top-up combination available to you. Always verify the provider's current top-up and entitlement rules.
How to reduce your attempts without cutting output
- Write reusable shot templates and keep a library of prompts that actually worked.
- Use shorter or lower-credit drafts when they satisfy the creative goal.
- Lock voice-over and editing timing before requesting final clips.
- Measure attempts per accepted clip each week. This number often matters more than a tiny nominal per-credit difference.
- Keep output duration consistent when evaluating workflow performance.
Frequently asked questions
How many Runway credits do I need for 100 ten-second Turbo videos?
At 50 credits per 10-second attempt, 100 first-pass outputs use 5,000 Runway credits. Budgeting 25 additional attempts raises that to 6,250 credits.
Is it cheaper to generate 100 videos on Google Flow?
That cannot be determined from credits alone because Google's credits are not directly comparable with Runway's, and the sample outputs can have different lengths.
Does the calculator predict video quality?
No. It estimates generation credit consumption. Quality, usability and number of necessary retries depend on your prompts and creative requirements.
